Why Choose Us?

Confidence

At Phoenix Stage School, we create an encouraging environment where every child feels valued. Through consistent training and positive reinforcement, our students grow in self-belief—not only as performers, but in their everyday lives. We take pride in helping each child find their voice, recognise their strengths, and develop strong self-esteem.

Fun

While we maintain high standards, enjoyment is at the heart of everything we do. Our classes are energetic, engaging, and full of positivity—giving students the opportunity to make friends, express themselves freely, and truly enjoy the experience of performing.

Performance

Performance is a key part of the Phoenix experience. Each year, our students work towards exciting live productions, giving them the opportunity to showcase their progress on stage.

Our dance students and younger performers take part in a vibrant annual variety show, complete with high-quality production and costumes sourced from Ireland, the UK, and the US.

Our Musical Theatre students perform fully staged productions, working with professionally licensed material. Past productions include Seussical, Elf, High School Musical, We Will Rock You, and Legally Blonde, with each show designed to challenge, inspire, and excite our students.

Our Drama students also have the opportunity to perform each year in a dedicated drama showcase at the Galway Town Hall Theatre Studio, allowing them to develop their acting skills and gain valuable stage experience in a professional theatre setting.

Competition Team

At Phoenix Stage School, dedicated students also have the opportunity to be part of our Competition Team. These students train regularly throughout the year, developing their technique, stage presence, teamwork, and performance quality to a high standard.

Our competition teams proudly represent Phoenix at national competitions and events, travelling to locations including Cork and Dublin to perform against schools and performers from across the country. These experiences help students develop resilience, discipline, commitment, and lasting friendships while working together towards shared goals and celebrating their achievements.

With our students ranging from 5 – 18yrs, our older students constantly provide inspiration and encouragement to our younger classes.

Examinations

At Phoenix Stage School, our Drama students have the opportunity to work towards recognised examinations, supporting their development in acting, communication, and performance skills.

Students prepare for and complete their drama exams with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama, gaining valuable experience, structured feedback, and a strong sense of achievement as they progress through each level.

These exams encourage dedication, preparation, and a deeper understanding of performance, while also providing students with recognised qualifications in drama.

Skills for Life

The skills our students develop at Phoenix Stage School extend far beyond the stage. Through dance, drama, and musical theatre training, children build communication skills, creativity, discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

These valuable qualities support students not only in performance, but also in school, social situations, and future careers. We are proud to help young people grow into expressive, motivated, and self-assured individuals both on and off the stage.

Being part of a team

We believe it’s more important than ever for children to feel a sense of belonging. At Phoenix Stage School, students become part of a welcoming community where friendships are formed and collaboration is encouraged.

With classes ranging from ages 5 to 18, our older students naturally become role models—offering encouragement and inspiration to younger performers, and helping to create a positive atmosphere across the school.

Many of our senior students continue their journey at Phoenix by becoming class assistants during Transition Year and beyond. This gives them the opportunity to develop leadership skills, mentor younger students, and gain valuable experience and responsibility within the school community.

Our Teachers

Our teaching team is made up of highly experienced performing arts professionals, carefully selected for both their expertise and their ability to connect with students. Passionate, dedicated, and approachable, our teachers are committed to delivering high-quality training in a safe and nurturing environment.

Theatre Tours

In 2019, 40 Phoenix Stage School students joined us on our first Theatre Tour to watch We Will Rock You at the Bord Gais theatre. A fantastic fun day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we aim to continue this trip annually.

Summer Camps

Alongside our weekly classes, we offer a range of popular summer camps each year for ages 5–14.

Our programmes include high-energy dance camps and our much-loved Musical Mania camps, where students spend the week developing their skills in a fun and creative setting. Each camp concludes with a performance for family and friends—giving students a chance to shine and celebrate everything they have achieved.
